ABOUT ME

About Me...

I'm a Digital Accessibility Specialist striving to develop and implement strategies to create accessible, user-friendly digital content that meets the needs of diverse users. My enthusiasm for problem-solving, dedication to equity and inclusivity, and passion for universal design drive my work as a digital accessibility professional.

πŸ… Certified DHS Trusted Tester

As a DHS Trusted Tester with in-depth knowledge of WCAG and Section 508 standards, I have the expertise and skills to help organizations achieve and maintain compliance with digital accessibility requirements.

So, what do Section 508 and WCAG entail? In short, these are sets of guidelines that ensure that digital content and products (such as websites, documents, and multimedia) are accessible to people with disabilities. Section 508 is a law that requires federal agencies to make electronic and information technology (EIT) accessible, while WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) is a set of international guidelines that apply to all types of digital content.

βš–οΈ Years of experience working with federal agencies

I have extensive experience overseeing 508 compliance and accessibility at high federal standards. I have a track record of successfully navigating complex accessibility challenges and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver accessible digital products.

πŸš€ Universal Design drives my mission

Universal design is an approach that aims to create environments and products that are usable by as many people as possible, regardless of their abilities or disabilities. With a user-centered approach and attention to detail, principals of universal design inspire my quest to make inclusive digital content that is accessible and engaging for all users.

Projects

Much of the accessibility work I have done is difficult to display publicly due to the inherently behind-the-scenes nature of the industry, or because of contractual obligations, propietary agreements, and non-disclosure contracts.
